Improving walking, wheeling and cycling
We are developing plans to improve walking, wheeling and cycling along Dundee Street and Fountainbridge.
Our plans involve moving on from the temporary infrastructure that is currently in place. This will help us to
- build better pavements and crossings
- upgrade and extend existing temporary cycleways
- provide better places to spend time with more seating and greenery.
The benefits include
- improved access for more people to and from shops and schools within the area
- a more pleasant environment, less traffic dominated and more inviting for people to spend time in
- more options for travelling into the area from across Edinburgh.
Gathering views on our early plans
We are speaking to stakeholders and local councillors and other community representatives.
We are speaking to businesses to find out what their needs are for access and loading.
Early next year, we will share an online survey with the wider community to hear your views.
All of the information we gather will help us to develop our designs.
