Edinburgh received five accolades yesterday evening at the annual Scottish Transport Awards in Glasgow.
The Council was recognised for the City Centre West to East Link (CCWEL) and the Street Improvements Project picking up Excellence in Transport Design alongside our City Mobility Plan and Our Future Streets winning the Best Practise in Transport Planning category.
Two colleagues also received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Transport’ award. Hannah Ross is our current Head of Major Projects and Commissioning and has been a pivotal figure in the success of the Trams to Newhaven project amongst other essential work. Daisy Narayanan MBE was until recently our Head of Placemaking and Mobility and spearheaded schemes such as CCWEL and George Street and First New Town.
Edinburgh Trams took the Transport Team/Partnership of the Year award for their work supporting the Council’s Trams to Newhaven project, bringing the line into operational service.
The Scottish Transport Awards have for over twenty years, brought the transport community together to recognise and celebrate industry achievements across Scotland. The Awards are supported by the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, The Railway Industry Association and The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) Scotland.

These projects are key to creating a better connected, environmentally friendly and sustainable city for all – and to meeting our ambitious 2030 climate targets. I’d like to thank all colleagues for their fantastic work, with particular praise going to Hannah Ross and Daisy Narayanan who picked up individual accolades for their work.
We’re very fortunate to have such talented, dedicated, and hardworking colleagues working in the service of the people of Edinburgh. The recognition they received at the Scottish Transport Awards in well deserved.
